This short course offers an engaging introduction to the mission and ministry of volunteering within a Catholic parish in the context of the Maltese society. It explores the spiritual foundations, practical responsibilities, and community impact of parish volunteering. Designed for new and prospective volunteers, the course provides an understanding of how their service contributes to the Church's mission and offers guidance for serving effectively, faithfully, and joyfully.
This course aims to equip individuals working in pastoral contexts with the knowledge and skills needed to utilize AI tools effectively. Designed for those with little to no prior knowledge of AI, the course provides a basic understanding of AI systems, their potential applications, and best practices for implementation in pastoral work. By the end of the course, students will have a foundational understanding of how AI tools and systems function, an awareness of the positive and negative aspects of such tools, and an understanding of the Church’s position on AI. They will also develop the ability to critically assess which contexts might benefit from introducing AI tools and which would not, as well as gain awareness of some AI tools that might prove useful in pastoral work.

This course is designed for parents to deepen their understanding of the sacraments particularly the Eucharist and Confession, not only to enrich their own faith but also to pass on these values to their children. The concluding seminar will be an opportunity for reflection, discussion and activities for parents to encourage the transmission of faith within their family.

Delve into scriptural foundations, such as the Emmaus story, while appreciating Eucharistic themes in classical paintings and sacred music. Discover how the Eucharist transcends Sunday worship, inspiring daily life and social justice. Through lectures, participants will deepen their understanding of the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life, enriching their spiritual practice and ministry. By the end of this course, participants will: • Understand the scriptural foundations and theological significance of the Holy Eucharist. • Analyse Eucharistic themes in art and music across historical and cultural contexts. • Integrate Eucharistic spirituality into daily life and community service. • Foster a deeper appreciation of the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian faith and mission. Please Note: Doing this course does not entitle the student to become an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. Extraordinary ministers are chosen by the pastor of the parish/community.
